  Whitening
  What is whitening?
If your natural teeth are discolored, we can whiten them without grinding or capping them.
There are two methods; 1) we can do this at the clinic 2) you can do this yourself at home by using a whitening tray.

  How long does it take?
Whitening at the clinic takes 1 hour to 1 hour and a half chair time for the upper teeth and the same for the lower teeth. Whitening at home takes 2 hours per day for 2 weeks using a whitening tray.

  How long does it last?
Even if your teeth are whitened, they can be restrained by tea, coffee, red wine, artificial coloring, and other foods or smoking.
To keep whitened teeth beautiful, regular checks and touch ups are required.

If you have any cavities, we cannot whiten your teeth because if the whitening gel gets into the cavity, it will damage the tooth's nerve. Therefore fillings are required before whitening.

Whitening may cause hyper sensitivity of the teeth, so you should treat this symptom prior to having your teeth whitened.

In some cases, it is very difficult to whiten your teeth, so a detailed inspection and consultation are necessary.

  Safety information for whitening
For whitening at the clinic we use hydrogen peroxide. Its safety is well known for sterilizing wounds.

For whitening at home you need urea peroxide which is used for sterilizing gums and its safety has been checked by the U.S.
Food and Drug Administration. (F.D.A.)

  Disconfort
Usually, whitening does not cause any pain, but some patients can feel a sensitivity during or after whitening.
Such sensitivity will disappear in a few days,
but if it continues we prescribe a desensitizing cream. Put the desensitizing cream in your whitening tray and wear it till the sensitivity disappears.
